Jon Stewart continues to speak to me as the voice of genuine reason in a many heated, but oft skewed analysis. As much as I dont see myself as a pure demo/repub anything; I often feel that he gets it; and for that I fear that others will see me as squarely progressive. Not that there's anything wrong with that; Im just not sure I agree.

The video below is just the type of shit Im talking about. Who the truck knew that the 150th year anniversary of the START of the civil war was coming? Are we memorializing the secession which prompted a war between ourselves where we almost killed one another? I dont keep track of the time me and my sister had that war of words that I thought wouldve triggered the rapture. If she was my brother; we woulda went to blows.

I can't get past the reality of a secession ball; or an antebellum hootenanny; but apparently they'll be all the rage in 2011. Wait? What? WHAT? Me myself, I'm thinking that them cats from young money should show up and perform; to keep it real you know.

I hope someone is keeping track of the m.effers that are attending these events; namely the politicians, newsmakers and socialites; It'll be great fodder the 2012 election cycle.
